As Porsche most affordable sports car, the 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman is not a VW wearing a luxury badge, it’s a genuine high-performance machine that in its strongest form can easily rival sports cars like the Ford Mustang GT350, Chevrolet Corvette and even the Porsche 911. The 718 Cayman offers a choice of powerful horizontal turbocharged engines, perfect front-to-rear balance and impressive suspension settings that make the 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman comfortable on the track as well as on the open road.

The 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman coupe is available in base Cayman, S and GTS trims levels. The 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman equipped with a solid roster of standards features. Notable equipment include front/rear Park Assist, automatic climate control, a tilt/telescoping steering column, comfortably supportive and leather-covered sport buckets with power-adjustable backs, Porsche Communications Management system, 6-speaker audio with CD, HD Radio and SiriusXM.

Engine Specs

Every 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman is powered by a horizontally opposed 4-cylinder turbocharged engines that mounted directly behind the seats. The Cayman uses a 2.0-liter engine producing an impressive 300 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque coming on at a low 1,950 rpm. The Cayman S uses a slightly larger version 2.5-liter engine employing the same 911 Turbo variable-geometry force feeder to up horsepower to 350, while the GTS increase that number to 365 horsepower.

Both engines can be paired with either a quick shifting 6-speed manual or 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission that includes a Sport button for faster throttle response and shift times. In track testing, the 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman with manual transmission went from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. The Cayman with PDK did it in just 3.6 seconds.

The 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman is on sale and arriving now at dealers nationwide. It has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) starts just under $58,000. The Cayman S just over $70,000, while the GTS around $82,000.
