The idea of “sharper and more graceful” defines the LC flagship, Lexus have applied the same concept to the new 2019 Lexus RC 350. This included enhancing the car’s aerodynamics and fine-tuning the suspension system and powertrain. Armed with a more stable ride quality and sharper handling characteristics, the new RC is more athletic and responsive than ever.
Enhanced aerodynamics — such as a new fin shape on the side window mold and a duct on the rear bumper that improves air flow, result in improved stability. New available 19-in. wheels and tires with increased grip deliver excellent steering response. Stiffer suspension bushings have been incorporated along with new shock absorbers which provide significant damping force from low suspension stroke speeds. Thanks to a significant amount of real-world testing that allowed constant fine-tuning by the chassis engineers, the new 2019 Lexus RC 350 delivers an extremely supple ride quality and razor-sharp handling characteristics.

The 2019 Lexus RC 350 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 producing 311 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. With rear-wheel drive, it gets the eight-speed Sports Direct Shift automatic transmission with paddle shifters; with all-wheel drive, it’s a six-speed automatic.
The Sport Direct-Shift eight-speed automatic transmission, with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters combines torque converter smoothness with shifting speed of a dual-clutch unit when shifting manually. MANUAL (M) mode engages full torque-converter lock-up from second to eighth gears for manual shifting. Downshifts are made in just 0.4 seconds in M mode, with the transmission throttle blipping control matching the engine speed to the gear.
The 2019 Lexus RC 350 listens to the driver through the Drive Mode Select system. Using a dial on the console, the driver can “dial in” the performance response and the feel desired. Drive Mode Select tailors the vehicle’s powertrain, electric power-assisted steering assist curve and, on F SPORT, suspension response. Modes include NORMAL, SPORT and ECO. The F SPORT adds SPORT S+ mode for maximum handling performance from the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) and the available Dynamic Handling System (LDH) on the RC 350 F SPORT. It also adds a customizable mode that allows the driver to set the powertrain and suspensions settings.

Drivers will feel right at home in the luxury coupe cabin. To enhance the look and feel of the interior, a new Dark Gray Streamline treatment has been applied to the heater control and audio panels. The design also includes enlarged knee pads to create a heightened sense of space, a new analog clock and cup holder.
For the 2019 RC 350, Lexus offers six different combinations of interior trim. Colors for the standard coupe include Glazed Caramel, Playa and Black. The RC F SPORT models will get three new bold colors: Circuit Red, Black with Yellow Accents and White.

The 2019 Lexus RC 350 is a four-seat luxury sport coupe available in two trim: base and F Sport. Both are powered by a 3.5-liter V6. An eight-speed automatic transmission for rear-wheel-drive models, while a six-speed automatic comes with all-wheel-drive versions.
Standard equipment include 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, a rearview camera, power-adjustable front seats, heated seats (AWD models only), simulated-leather upholstery, a 60/40-split folding rear seat, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch display, and a 10-speaker sound system with satellite radio. Standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and mitigation, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist, and Lexus Enform communication and remote services.

The 2019 Lexus RC 350 F Sport has a mesh grille and a unique front fascia along with substantive bits including 19-inch wheels, adaptive sport-tuned suspension dampers, and sport front seats with heating and ventilation. The F Sport models also get the Navigation and Premium packages, perforated-leather upholstery and trim, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, driver-seat memory settings, and a special instrument cluster.
Stand-alone options include a 17-speaker Mark Levinson surround-sound audio system, a sunroof, upgraded headlights, LED foglights, variable-ratio steering with a four-wheel steering system (RWD F Sport only), a limited-slip differential (RWD F Sport only), blind-spot monitoring, and front and rear parking sensors.
The 2019 Lexus RC 350 rear-wheel drive has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) just over the $44,075 mark, before the $1,025 destination charge. The AWD RC 350 starts just over $46,240. Those prices are not far from the Infiniti Audi A5, Q60 and BMW 4 Series, but quite a bit more than the Cadillac ATS coupe.
