Engine Specs

Every 2019 Kia Optima is front-wheel drive. The LX and S models are equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard. The EX turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine has better low-end torque and fuel economy, producing 178 horsepower that mates to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. If you need more power, the 2019 Kia Optima SX turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder makes 245 hp in a smooth and linear fashion. This engine mated to a conventional 6-speed automatic and more refined than the 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox in the EX.

Pricing Notes

The 2019 Kia Optima is on sale and arriving now at dealers nationwide. The base LX has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) starting at $23,820 (including $920 destination fee). The S trim starts at $25,820, and if you want the EX turbo engine, you’ll pay $27,720. The SX comes in at $32,820. A fully loaded SX Limited will set you back around $38,000.
