The 2019 Jaguar F-PACE remains true to the aesthetic of the award-winning C-X17 concept – both vehicles were designed by the same team. Thanks to the flexibility of the Lightweight Aluminum Architecture, the designers could work hand in hand with the engineers to determine key dimensions such as the wheelbase and track, delivering the proportions and elegant lines that distinguish the F-PACE as a Jaguar.
The influence of the F-TYPE is instantly apparent at the rear of the F-PACE, from the design of the LED tail lights to the muscular rear haunches. The rakish angle of the rear windshield underlines the unrivalled load space behind it. This influence extends to the silhouette if the F-PACE, with its sleek roofline and short front overhang reflecting the vehicle’s agile responses. The fender vents are another familiar Jaguar design feature. The large diameter wheels – especially the range of forged 22-inch designs – enhance the purposeful stance.
The taut surfaces and clean lines of the bodysides – formed from a single sheet of aluminum – reflect the Jaguar brand’s expertise in designing, engineering and manufacturing vehicles using this lightweight material. Perfectly balancing form and function, the geometry of every pillar in the upper canopy has been optimized to deliver the best possible visibility for all occupants.
The bold, upright front grille is not only assertive, reinforcing the SUV’s multi-surface potential, but also contributes to the model’s aerodynamic efficiency. The power bulge extends the full length of the aluminum hood emphasizing the vehicle’s performance credentials. The sleek headlights, available with adaptive full-LED technology as an option, feature daytime running lights with the signature Jaguar ‘J’ Blade design.
The 2019 Jaguar F-PACE is a true five-seater with a spacious, luxurious interior featuring the premium materials, craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail that gives every Jaguar vehicle its unique sense of occasion.

The dramatic curve of the front door panel rolls into the fascia and enhances the cockpit-like feel. The range of contemporary trim options include finishes such as a Meshed Aluminum and a newly available Carbon Fiber, in addition to, multiple beautifully crafted wood veneers.
The Instrument Cluster features two large, deeply hooded dials and a central TFT display, or an optional 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display offering a choice of four visual themes and a full-screen navigation display while the touchscreen of the standard InControl Touch Pro infotainment system measures 10- inches. Configurable interior ambient lighting with 10-color options enhances the sense of luxury inside.
Row-two accommodation is equally impressive. A 113.1in (2,874mm) wheelbase provides generous rear legroom, while the seat base was designed to offer maximum comfort when seating three occupants. The positioning of the seats, together with the height of the vehicle’s beltline, means that all passengers enjoy a good view out of the vehicle and the optional four-zone climate control system, with B-pillar vents, enhances the passenger experience.
The 40:20:40 split seatback is available with an electric recline function, and despite the dynamic roofline, headroom is maintained throughout the full six degrees of movement. The attention to detail extends to the shape of the headliner, which has been designed to extract every last inch of clearance.
Luxury and spaciousness are matched by the interior’s versatility. The door pockets can accommodate large bottles, while the storage spaces neatly scalloped into the sides of the center console were designed around smartphones and feature non-slip rubber inserts at the bottom. The console also features twin cup holders, which can be hidden when not in use by the sliding gloss black cover. The center console arm-rest offers a 12V socket and up to two USB ports. The rear console provides up to two more 12V sockets or two additional USB ports.
The relentless focus on packaging also means that the 2019 Jaguar F-PACE has an exceptional luggage compartment measuring 33.5-cu. ft. The space is made all the more useable by its 49.3in (1,253mm) width. The clever packaging is further enhanced by the low loading height and flat floor. The floor itself is reversible: one side is carpeted, the other rubberized – making it ideal for sports equipment or pets. The lightweight composite tailgate benefits from optional power opening and closing functions, and gesture control for hands-free operation.
Turbocharged Ingenium diesel
The most fuel efficient powertrain offered in the 2019 Jaguar F-PACE is the 180hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder Ingenium diesel produces 318lb-ft of torque from low engine speeds, delivering strong acceleration whenever the driver demands it.
The Ingenium engine features variable valve timing: a phaser to the exhaust camshaft enables the aftertreatment system to reach operating temperature as quickly as possible, assisting in a reduction of emissions. The engine warms up very quickly from cold thanks to a split-cooling system featuring a variable flow coolant pump and a mapped thermostat.
Turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine A 247hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder Ingenium unit is also available and is positioned as the cost leader for the model. It features a single twin-scroll turbo and produces 269lb-ft of torque from only 1,300rpm. The smooth and responsive gasoline engine powers the F-PACE from 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds (0-100km/h in 7.0 seconds).
The choice of Ingenium gasoline engines also includes a 296hp/295lb-ft 2.0-liter powertrain. The engine effortlessly accelerates the performance SUV from 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds (0-100km/h in 6.1 seconds) and a top speed of 145 mph.
The family of Jaguar Ingenium gasoline engines features innovative technologies delivering low levels of friction to optimize efficiency and refinement. They also deploy twin scroll turbos to reduce lag, enhancing power output and efficiency from the turbo. Continuously Variable Valve Lift (CVVL) technology improves air delivery to the engines. The 247hp powerplant features electro hydraulic valve control to deliver unrivalled flexibility. This patented technology provides fully variable control of the intake valve lift for optimum energy efficiency, power and torque across the rev range. In addition, cleaner combustion is ensured by a new 200bar direct injection system, which features centrally mounted injectors with optimized spray patterns which help improve efficiency relative to other injection systems.
For drivers seeking the most rewarding experience, the 2019 Jaguar F-PACE offers a 380hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine. This all-aluminum powertrain is shared with the F-TYPE sports car and characterized by the immediate throttle response, linear power delivery and unique intake and exhaust sound. The twin-vortex roots-type supercharger is neatly packaged in the ‘vee’ of the engine. Together with direct injection and variable intake and exhaust valve timing, the supercharger enables the engine to generate a high torque output throughout the rev range, delivering strong acceleration. The 380hp engine is exclusive to the F-PACE S model and can launch the vehicle from 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds (0-100km/h in only 5.5 seconds) and on to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.
Engineered by Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 found in the F-PACE SVR produces 550hp and 502lb. ft. of torque; a 44% uplift in power, enabling it to reach 0-60mph in just 4.1 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.3 seconds) on its way to a top speed of 176mph (283km/h).
Aerodynamic enhancements include larger air intakes at the front and side fender vents that lower pressure in the wheel arches, reducing lift and providing additional cooling while also assisting with high-speed stability. In addition, unique wheel arch extensions and lower body moldings provide a low-slung muscularity that sets the SVR apart.
An exclusive SVR hood features vents to help extract hot air from the engine bay, providing visual evidence of the car’s dynamic intent. At the rear, a unique spoiler is joined by a new bumper housing the Active Exhaust system’s quad tailpipes. The bumper incorporates side strakes designed to aid aerodynamic performance by smoothing airflow away from the rear of the vehicle.
The upgraded chassis features a set of progressive front and rear springs that are 30- and 10-percent stiffer respectively; incorporating an anti-roll system that contributes to a 5-percent overall reduction in body roll.
New, lightweight forged 21- and optional 22-inch alloy wheels are wider at the rear by almost 1-inch (25mm) compared to the front and contribute to the vehicle’s enhanced handling. The 22-inch wheels are 5.3lbs lighter on the front and 3.7lbs lighter on the rear and are designed to deliver greater airflow to the larger 15.5-inch (395mm) front and 15.6-inch (396mm) rear brake discs. The brake discs feature an advanced two piece construction on the front and rear, and when combined with the lighter wheels reduce unsprung mass, further contributing to the new car’s agile handling.
The 2019 Jaguar F-PACE SVR also features an F-TYPE inspired Variable Valve Active Exhaust System; providing not only a charismatic soundtrack, but also increasing exhaust gas flow as another factor behind the SUV’s increased performance capability.
All of the transmissions featured in the F-PACE were developed with ZF to deliver unrivalled shift quality and efficiency. Two specifically optimized versions of the eight-speed automatic transmissions from ZF’s 8HP family are available.
The 380hp six-cylinder engine equipped in the F-PACE S model and the 550hp eight-cylinder engine equipped in the SVR model are paired with the 8HP70 transmission, while models equipped with the gasoline and diesel four-cylinder engines are matched to the lighter, more compact 8HP45. The latter also features a pendulum damper in the torque converter: this device is extremely effective at absorbing low frequency vibrations, enabling the engines to run at lower speeds without compromising refinement.
Although the transmission has been designed to select the right gear at the right time depending on the mode chosen in the JaguarDrive Control system and according to driving style, enthusiasts will make the most of manual shift control using the steering wheel-mounted paddles.
Like the F-TYPE AWD, the 2019 Jaguar F-PACE features a torque-on-demand AWD system. Under normal driving conditions, all of the engine’s torque is sent to the rear axle, maintaining a rear-wheel drive character and minimizing parasitic losses. Whenever greater traction is needed, Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) is designed to transfer precisely the right amount of torque to the front axle.
At the heart of the system is a compact transfer case featuring a multi-plate wet clutch and chain drive to the front axle. But its main advantage is speed: it can make the transition from 100 percent rear-bias to a 50:50 torque split in just 165 milliseconds from a standstill. If there is already a portion of torque being sent to the front axle, additional torque transfer can take as little as 100 milliseconds on the move. The front differential has by far the highest torque capacity of any AWD Jaguar offering measurable benefits in terms of performance and capability.
