The 2019 Hyundai Veloster is a four-seat hatchback that available in five trim levels: 2.0 Base, 2.0 Premium, Turbo R-Spec, Turbo and Turbo Ultimate. Even the Base Veloster models has upscale safety features such as automatic headlights, lane-keeping assist, and forward-collision avoidance with automatic braking. The Premium and higher trim get blind-spot collision warning along with rear cross-traffic collision warning. A Drive Attention Warning system, which monitoring your driving and alerting you when it’s time to take a break is standard on all models. Cruise control, LCD touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come with all models. Base models get 17-inch alloys, while all other models have 18-inch rims.
The 2019 Hyundai Veloster base and Premium trim come with a 2.0-liter inline-four engine that produces 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Veloster Turbo R-Spec, Turbo and Turbo Ultimate come with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder good for 201 hp and 195 lb-ft. The R-Spec models come with a 6-speed manual, while the Turbo and Turbo Ultimate models come with 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmissions. In testing, a manual-equipped Turbo R-Spec went from 0 to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds, which is much respectable time for a sport-compact hatchback.

The 2019 Hyundai Veloster is on sale and arriving now at dealers nationwide. The base 2.0 model has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) starting at $19,385 (all prices include the $885 destination fee). The six-speed automatic is offered for an additional $1,000. The 2.0 Premium trim starts at $23,635. The Turbo R-Spec gets the turbocharged engine and starts at $23,785. The Veloster Turbo, which starts at $26,285, combines the turbocharged engine with all the comfort and convenience features. The Veloster range-topper is the Turbo Ultimate, which starts at $27,535.
