2019 Cadillac XT5 Review, Release Dates, Prices

Like its European and Asian rivals, Cadillac rushed to bring various SUVs to the market, including the new XT4. But many buyers will continue to look for additional space and features offered by the 2019 Cadillac XT5. There haven’t been many changes this year, but that doesn’t mean you have to pass this fancy and stylish model. The XT5 offers good performance from its 3.6-liter V6 engine, which is one of the strongest offered in this segment.

The 2019 Cadillac XT5 is available in four trim levels: base, Luxury, Premium Luxury and Platinum. Every 2019 Cadillac XT5 come with 18-inch wheels, electric parking brake, cruise control, a power liftgate, keyless entry, power express up/down windows, dual-zone climate control, a power tilt-telescopic steering column, power front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. A 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and a wireless smartphone charging pad are standard, as well as an 8-speaker Bose audio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also included are a rearview camera and dual front, front and rear head-curtain and drivers knee airbags. Navigation is optional, but one year of OnStar is, and provide turn-by-turn directions.

Engine Specs

While most competitors use smaller turbocharged engines, the 2019 Cadillac XT5 comes standard with a large naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 engine. It produces 310 horsepower and features such technologies as direct injection, Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation, variable valve timing, and auto stop/start technology. The V6 is paired with a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission, and deliver a surprising fuel economy considering its power output. It also runs on regular gasoline to keep operating costs low. The 2019 Cadillac XT5 is available with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.

Pricing Notes

The 2019 Cadillac XT5 is on sale and arriving now at dealers nationwide. It has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) starting from $42,600 for the base XT5 trim. Adding all-wheel drive costs an additional $3,000. The Premium Luxury model starts around $57,700. The top-line Platinum starts at about $67,000.
