The 2019 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid is surprisingly well-equipped. Under the hood, the 2019 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid uses a 3.0-liter V6 combined with three electric motors. Together, they produce a total output of 321 horsepower and 289 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission developed from the NSX supercar sent that power to all four wheels. In the rear on the Sport Hybrid are two electric motors, one for each rear wheel. Also standard for this year is an automatic start/stop features, which includes on the Advance package last year. Work has been done to make the restarts quicker, but you can disable this feature. To further improve fuel economy, Variable Cylinder Management shuts down three of the six cylinders during cruising and deceleration. Towing capacity up to 5,000 pounds.
In track testing, the 2019 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid went to 60 mph from zero in 5.7 seconds, a quick time for any vehicle and particularly impressive for one that can seat seven.
