Yet more bad news for Toyota: the automaker announced it will recall an additional 1.1 million vehicles for what it calls “pedal entrapment” issues. The affected vehicles are:
2009–2010 Toyota Corolla
2009–2010 Highlander
2009–2010 Venza
2009–2010 Matrix
2009–2010 Pontiac Vibe (the Matrix’s mechanical twin)
As with the 3.8 million vehicles already recalled, the aforementioned models could “stick” at full throttle if improperly installed floor mats interfere with the pedals. The announcement comes just a day after Toyota dealers stopped selling eight models affected by another throttle-related recall.
