The British Motor Show is go! As Auto Express exclusively reported last week, organisers of the Goodwood Festival of Speed have officially confirmed plans to resurrect the British event. What’s more, visitors will actually be able to drive a selection of new vehicles on a specially constructed course.

Dubbed the Moving Motor Show, visitors attending the show on Thursday 1st July will get the chance to drive a 3.5-mile route which includes part of the famous hillclimb. The show comes as good news for British automobile fans, as this year’s biennial spectacular at London’s ExCeL was canceled due to a lack of industry support.

This year’s Festival of Speed will mark Alfa Romeo’s centenary. The Italian firm will celebrate by contributing a striking automotive “Central Feature” art installation which will be constructed in front of Goodwood House.

Alfa Romeo will also bring 50 important vehicles from its Milan-based Museo Storico collection, many of which have never before seen in the UK. Among the highlights are its 2900 B Le Mans (pictured), 159 ‘Alfetta’ and a unique V10-powered SE 048SP Group C prototype.

The new Giulietta will also be displayed as part of the Moving Motor Show, giving British motorists their very first opportunity to see the automobile and drive it up the Goodwood Hill.
