The 911 Turbo and all-new Porsche Cayman have been spotted winter testing. The quad tailpipes, aggressive bodykit and big alloys mark out the new 911 Turbo, due in 2013. There’s also wider bodywork with speed-activated rear wing, big cross-drilled brakes and rear-quarter air intakes designed to feed air to the rear-mounted engine. 

It will use the bigger 3.8-litre fla- six, which makes 395hp in the Carrera 2S/4S, with power increased to around 520bhp with the addition of two turbochargers. It will be offered with either a seven-speed manual or PDK gearbox, and it will be capable of 0-60mph in around three seconds.

It should be more stable, too, thanks to the a 100mm longer wheelbase, while our test of the Carrera S proves that the new electro-mechanical power steering hasn’t softened the 911’s ability. Expect more efficiency than its predecessor, thanks to the new rack, as well as the extensive use of aluminium in the shell which should shed around 40kg from the outgoing 911 Turbo’s 1,603kg kerbweight. 

The all-new Cayman benefits from the new 911’s technology and is a development of the all-new Boxster. These images clearly show the Cayman’s 60mm longer wheelbase, which improves cabin space, and its shorter overhangs. Standard wheel size is now 18-inches, while the bigger rear arches blend into the rear end that features a bigger rear window and trademark centre-exit exhaust.

It will be powered by the same 261bhp 2.7-litre and 311bhp 3.4-litre flat-sixes as the Boxster, and will return a 0-60mph time of around five seconds. The Cayman is also lighter than its predecessor, so should have superior economy. 

The Porsche 911 Turbo is due on sale in 2013 and is expected to be priced around £120,000, while the Porsche Cayman is due on sale late April 2013, priced from £40,000.
